Pelicans Confident In Home Win
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the visiting Los Angeles Clippers, 120-103, at Smoothie King Center on Monday evening.

The Pelicans got out to a good start at home with a, 33-20, lead after one quarter. The Clippers picked up the pace in the second but could not cut into the deficit, as the Pelicans took a 14-point lead into halftime. The pace picked up in the third, but the visitors could not make any progress, as the Pelicans managed to increase their advantage to 17 points, heading into the final frame. The Clippers had no answers in the fourth and saw their four-game win streak come to an end.

Zion Williamson led the way for the Pelicans with 23 points and five assists, in 30 minutes. Willie Hernangomez totaled 12 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a block, while Lonzo Ball tallied 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals. The Pelicans shot 53 percent from the field, including 15-of-29 from deep.

Meanwhile, Terance Mann was the high-point man for the Clippers, with 17 points, in 29 minutes. DeMarcus Cousins added 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, in 24 minutes off the bench, while Marcus Morris totaled 15 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block. The Clippers shot 40 percent from the field, including 14-of-45 from deep.

The Clippers (43-20) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Suns on Wednesday. The Pelicans (27-34) take on the Nuggets in Denver on Wednesday.
