Lakers Handle Magic, 114-103
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic, 114-103, at Amway Center on Monday night.

The Lakers (36-25) checked into the contest with increasing urgency, as they'd dropped four straight games coming into Monday's contest. The defending champions looked set to eradicate that skid in definitive fashion early, jumping out to a 28-16 lead through one. However, the Magic (18-43) roared back in the second, eliminating their 12-point deficit and forging a six-point advantage going into halftime. L.A. then whittled down Orlando's edge to a single point going into the final period and secured the victory by outscoring their hosts, 35-23, over the final 12 minutes.

Dennis Schroder led the Lakers with a 21-point, 10-assist double-double that also included two rebounds. Anthony Davis and Montrezl Harrell generated matching 18-point tallies while pulling down eight and five rebounds, respectively. Kyle Kuzma furnished 14 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Andre Drummond posted a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double that also included two blocks and one steal. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope tallied 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Chuma Okeke paced the Magic with 18 points, supplementing them with five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Gary Harris poured in 17 points. Cole Anthony managed 15 points, seven assists, four rebounds and one block. Dwayne Bacon supplied 13 points, two assists and one rebound. Wendell Carter and Robert Franks contributed matching 10-point totals, with Carter also hauling in eight boards.

The Lakers remain on the road and visit the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, while the Magic visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night as well.
