Wizards Defeat Thunder, 119-107
The Washington Wizards defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder, 119-107, at Capital One Arena on Monday.

A 38-25 first quarter really set the tone for Washington in this win, taking care of business in wire-to-wire fashion. In fact, they got their lead up to 17 points and OKC never had a chance to tie the game after the opening quarter. Washington ended up shooting 51 percent from the field while holding Oklahoma City to just 43 percent shooting. In addition, the Wizards, out-assisted the Thunder, 31-23, while winning the turnover battle, 19-12. They also outscored the Thunder in the paint, 58-36.

The Thunder (20-38) were led by Darius Bazley and his 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kenrich Williams amassed 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Theo Maledon had 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Tony Bradley led the bench with 16 points, three rebounds and two steals. Ty Jerome also had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Wizards (24-33) were led by Bradley Beal, tallying 30 points, two assists and three steals. Russell Westbrook collected 13 points, 11 rebounds, 17 assists and three steals. No other starter reached double figures in scoring but Raul Neto did provide six points, four rebounds and four assists. Davis Bertans led the bench with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Oklahoma City staying on the road to face the Indiana Pacers and Washington remaining home to play the Golden State Warriors.
