Hawks Come From Behind To Top Hornets
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 105-101, at Spectrum Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks (29-25) and the Hornets (27-25) played a back-and-forth game that saw both teams share periods of time leading the way, but the Hawks tightened things up when it mattered the most and used a huge comeback in the second half to come away with the road win. Atlanta jumped out to a 33-20 lead in the first quarter and it seemed as if they'd dominate the game with ease, but the Hornets quickly responded and shortened the gap to just seven points following a 25-19 score in the second quarter. The Hornets completed the comeback with a 32-23 score in the third quarter and held a two-point lead with only 12 minutes left on the clock. The Hawks managed to turn things around down the stretch, however, and they ended winning the game after outscoring Charlotte by six points (30-24) in the final frame of the contest.

Bogdan Bogdanovic carried the Hawks offensively with 32 points and three rebounds, while Clint Capela took on a larger role offensively and finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Brandon Goodwin, who replaced Trae Young in the starting lineup, delivered a strong performance with 17 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Kevin Huerter had 10 points and seven assists, while Lou Williams chipped in with 13 points off the bench.

Miles Bridges was the best player for the Hornets and finished with 23 points and seven rebounds, ending as the team's leading scorer. Devonte' Graham delivered 16 points and seven assists, while Terry Rozier had 18 points, six boards and four dimes. Brad Wanamaker was the other Charlotte player who scored in double digits and finished with 13 points, five assists and three boards.

Celtics Come From Behind To Defeat Nuggets
The Boston Celtics defeated the Denver Nuggets, 105-87, at Ball Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Celtics (28-26) moved two games over the .500 mark and are undoubtedly on the rise of late, as they've won seven of their last 11 games, and they came from behind while looking absolutely dominant in the final 12 minutes of play to dispatch the Nuggets (34-19). Boston got off to a slow start and only scored 16 points in the first quarter, allowing Denver to lead by 11 points after the first quarter (27-16), but the Celtics closed the gap by winning both the second (29-24) and third (29-28) quarters, meaning the Nuggets were up by just five points with 12 minutes left in the game. That's when Boston looked at their best, though, outscoring Denver by an impressive 31-8 score and running away with the game despite the fact they were down most of the time. The Celtics shot 44.8 percent from the field and 21.2 percent from deep, while the Nuggets only made 36.4 percent of their shots and 23.5 percent of their three-point attempts.

Only five Celtics scored in double digits in this game, with Jayson Tatum leading the way after he posted 28 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Jaylen Brown recorded 20 points but also found a way to stuff the stat sheet, as he ended with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Robert Williams III mustered 10 points with eight rebounds, while Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart each ended with 14 points as well.

Michael Porter Jr. carried the Nuggets offensively with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Nikola Jokic delivered another triple-double after ending with 17 points, 11 assists and 10 boards. Facundo Campazzo got another start and finished with 14 points while adding four assists, and Will Barton ended with 13 points. No other Denver player scored in double digits in this game.

Pelicans Notch Second Straight Win
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host Cleveland Cavaliers, 116-109, at Rocket Mortgage Field House on Sunday evening.

The Cavs got out to a great start at home with a, 39-29, lead after one quarter. They pushed their lead to a game-high 13 points, early in the second, but the Pelicans rallied back to cut it to a six-point game by halftime. The Pelicans stayed strong to start the third and tied it up early in the quarter, but the Cavs pushed back to take a four-point game, heading into the final frame. The Pelicans started the fourth on an, 11-5, run to grab a two-point lead. The Cavs hit a three-pointer to briefly regain the lead, but the Pelicans responded with a, 15-7, run from there, to close out the road win. It marks the second straight win for the Pelicans, while it marks the second straight loss for the Cavs.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 38 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks, in 36 minutes. Brandon Ingram tallied 27 points, eight assists, four rebounds and a steal, while Naji Marshall added 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block. The Pelicans shot 51 percent from the field, including 7-of-24 from long range.

Meanwhile, Dean Wade led the Cavs with 21 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, in 31 minutes. Kevin Love totaled 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and a block, while Isaac Okoro tallied 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal. The Cavs shot 48 percent from the field, including 13-of-40 from long range.

The Cavs (19-34) will look to bounce back as they take on the Hornets in Charlotte on Wednesday. The Pelicans (24-29) play host to the Kings on Monday.

Bucks Throttle Magic, 124-87
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Orlando Magic, 124-87, at Amway Center on Sunday night.

The Bucks (33-20) had played their most recent game extremely short-handed and still emerged with a win, so getting four of their five starters back from injury Sunday seemed to portend good things for Milwaukee, even with Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) still missing. The visitors left no doubt as to what type of night it would be from the opening tip, jumping out to a 13-point lead through one quarter that had expanded to 19 by halftime. The Magic (17-36) played more competitively in the third quarter but still only shaved a single point from their deficit, and the Bucks then let their second unit loose in the fourth quarter and still put up another 39 points.

Khris Middleton led the way for the Bucks with 21 points, adding eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. Bobby Portis produced a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double that also included one assist and one steal. Bryn Forbes furnished 13 points, three boards, two assists and three steals. Jrue Holiday delivered 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block. Pat Connaughton and Jordan Nwora supplied 11 points apiece.

Mo Bamba paced the Magic with 21 points, complementing them with five rebounds and one block. Cole Anthony turned in 12 points, seven boards, five assists, one steal and one block. Michael Carter-Williams and Gary Harris contributed matching nine-point tallies while recording two rebounds and two assists, respectively.

The Bucks remain on the road and next visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, while the Magic host the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Spurs Edge Mavericks, 119-117
The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 119-117, at American Airlines Center on Sunday night.

The Spurs (25-26) walked into the contest as underdogs with good reason, as they'd dropped 10 of their previous 12 games. However, San Antonio's first-quarter performance hinted at a competitive matchup, as they matched the Mavericks (29-23) bucket for bucket and trailed by just five points at halftime. San Antonio came out of the halftime locker room sharp, however, shaving four points from its deficit going into the fourth quarter and then starting the final period on an 11-2 run over the first 3;23 to establish an eight-point lead. The visitors wouldn't trail again, although Dallas managed knot the game at 117 with 19.8 seconds remaining before DeMar DeRozan's step back jumper with one second remaining and Luka Doncic's subsequent misfire at the buzzer ensured the victory.

DeRozan led the Spurs with 33 points, complementing them with eight assists and five rebounds. Dejounte Murray furnished 25 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Lonnie Walker poured in 13 points, while Jakob Poeltl totaled 12 points, eight boards, two assists and four blocks.

Kristaps Porzingis paced the Mavericks with 31 points, supplementing them with 15 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Doncic managed 29 points, seven assists, three rebounds and one steal. Josh Richardson compiled 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal. Jalen Brunson contributed 11 points, five assists and four rebounds.

The Spurs remain on the road and visit the Orlando Magic on Monday night, while the Mavericks remain home and host the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.

Knicks Close Out Second Straight Win
The New York Knicks defeated the visiting Toronto Raptors, 102-96, at Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening.

The Knicks got out to a good start with a, 27-16, lead after one quarter. The pace picked up in the second, but the Knicks stayed in control and pushed their lead to 14 points, by halftime. The Raptors came out strong in the third quarter and outscored the hosts, 34-22, to cut it to a two-point game, heading into the final frame. The Raptors pulled ahead early in the fourth, but the Knicks reclaimed control down the stretch and came up clutch to close out their second straight win.

Julius Randle led the way for the Knicks with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists, in 38 minutes. R.J. Barrett followed up with 19 points, five assists and two steals, while Nerlens Noel totaled nine points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and a steal. The Knicks shot 39 percent from the field, including 9-of-35 from long range.

Meanwhile, Gary Trent Jr. was the high-point man for the Raptors with 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting, in 35 minutes. Kyle Lowry logged 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals, while Chris Boucher totaled 17 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks. The Raptors shot 41 percent from the field, including 11-of-34 from deep.

The Raptors (21-33) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Hawks on Tuesday. The Knicks (27-27) play host to the Lakers on Monday.

Pacers Hang On For Third Straight Win
The Indiana Pacers defeated the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, 132-125, at FedEx Forum on Sunday evening.

The Pacers got out to a great start as they outscored the hosts, 45-31, through one quarter. The Grizzlies came out stronger in the second and managed to shave three points off the deficit. They stayed strong in the third quarter but could only trim it to a nine-point game heading into the fourth. The Grizzlies kept chipping away and cut it down to a one-point game with just under two minutes to go, but the Pacers came up clutch down the stretch, behind two key buckets from Caris LeVert, which put them ahead by five with 22 seconds left. This marks the third straight win for the Pacers and the second straight loss for the Grizzlies.

LeVert led the Pacers with 34 points, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal, in 34 minutes. Malcolm Brogdon totaled 29 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and a steal, while Domantas Sabonis tallied 18 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and a steal. The Pacers shot 52 percent from the field, including 13-of-37 from deep.

Meanwhile, Jonas Valanciunas led the Grizzlies with 34 points, 22 rebounds, two assists and two blocks, in 32 minutes. Ja Morant added 23 points, six assists, two rebounds and two steals, while Kyle Anderson tallied 15 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists. The Grizzlies shot 46 percent from the field, including 6-of-20 from long range.

The Grizzlies (26-25) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Bulls on Monday. The Pacers (25-27) play host to the Clippers on Tuesday.

Clippers Defeat Pistons, 131-124
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the visiting Detroit Pistons, 131-124, at Staples Center on Sunday.

While there were only five ties and five lead changes in this game, there were some major swings. In fact, The Pistons led by 12 points near the end of the third quarter but the Clippers rode a 37-25 fourth quarter to their victory. Los Angeles had one of the best offensive performances of the season, shooting 63 percent from the field and 58 percent from three-point range. They did that while recording 35 assists. In addition, the Clippers won the second-chance scoring battle, 17-9.

The Pistons (16-38) were led by Josh Jackson and his 26 points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Seddiq Bey amassed 25 points, two assists and four steals. Cory Joseph accrued 18 points, five rebounds, 13 assists and two steals. Wayne Ellington had 15 points and four assists while Frank Jackson led the bench with 16 points.

The Clippers (37-18) were led by Marcus Morris, totaling 33 points and six rebounds on 13-of-18 from the field. Paul George tallied 32 points, three rebounds and nine assists. Ivica Zubac amassed 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Reggie Jackson accumulated 12 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Nicolas Batum led the bench with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks.

On deck for Los Angeles is a road game against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Detroit is off until Wednesday, returning home for a rematch against these Clippers.

Heat Defeat Trail Blazers, 107-98
The Miami Heat defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 107-98, at Moda Center on Sunday.

While Portland got out to a 31-25 lead after the first quarter, Miami outscored them in the middle quarters, 64-40. In fact, that allowed the Heat to lead by at least nine points for the final 20 minutes of action. Miami ended up shooting 12-of-29 from three-point range while holding Portland to just 11-of-36 from long distance. The key was taking care of the ball though, with the Heat recording 12 steals while winning the turnover battle, 17-7. That also allowed Miami to outscore Portland in points off of turnovers, 28-7.

The Heat (28-25) were led by Bam Adebayo and his 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jimmy Butler collected 20 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kendrick Nunn started and generated 15 points, three rebounds and four assists. Tyler Herro led the bench with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Trail Blazers (31-22) were led by C.J. McCollum and his 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Damian Lillard amassed 12 points and three assists. Norman Powell totaled 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Robert Covington had nine points, five rebounds and four assists while Enes Kanter led the bench with 10 points and eight boards.

On deck for Miami is another road game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. As for Portland, they remain home to face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday as well.
