Heat Defeat Trail Blazers, 107-98
The Miami Heat defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 107-98, at Moda Center on Sunday.

While Portland got out to a 31-25 lead after the first quarter, Miami outscored them in the middle quarters, 64-40. In fact, that allowed the Heat to lead by at least nine points for the final 20 minutes of action. Miami ended up shooting 12-of-29 from three-point range while holding Portland to just 11-of-36 from long distance. The key was taking care of the ball though, with the Heat recording 12 steals while winning the turnover battle, 17-7. That also allowed Miami to outscore Portland in points off of turnovers, 28-7.

The Heat (28-25) were led by Bam Adebayo and his 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jimmy Butler collected 20 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kendrick Nunn started and generated 15 points, three rebounds and four assists. Tyler Herro led the bench with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Trail Blazers (31-22) were led by C.J. McCollum and his 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Damian Lillard amassed 12 points and three assists. Norman Powell totaled 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Robert Covington had nine points, five rebounds and four assists while Enes Kanter led the bench with 10 points and eight boards.

On deck for Miami is another road game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. As for Portland, they remain home to face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday as well.
