Thunder Hold On For Second Straight Win
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 118-109, at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Friday evening.

The contest got out to a high-scoring start as the Hawks took a, 33-31, lead after one quarter. The Thunder picked up the pace in the second and outscored the visitors by 10 points in the quarter, to take an eight-point lead into halftime. They kept the upper hand through third and pushed the lead to 16 points, heading into the final frame. The Hawks put up a fight in the fourth and cut it to an eight-point game, with about eight minutes left, but the Thunder maintained composure and closed out their second straight win.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder with 24 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal, in 35 minutes. Darius Bazley added 18 points, 12 rebounds, a block and a steal, while Theo Maledon totaled 13 points, 12 assists, four rebounds and a steal. The Thunder shot 52 percent from the field, including 16-of-42 from long range.

Meanwhile, John Collins led the Hawks with 25 points on 11-of-19 shooting, eight rebounds and a steal, in 31 minutes. Clint Capela added 17 points, 21 rebounds, four blocks and a steal, while Trae Young tallied 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The Hawks shot 44 percent from the field, including 12-of-40 from deep.

The Hawks (14-19) will look to bounce back as they take on the Heat in Miami on Sunday. The Thunder (14-19) will be right back in action as they take on the Nuggets in Denver on Saturday.
