Lakers Defeat Trail Blazers, 102-93
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 102-93, at Staples Center on Friday.

There were six ties and nine lead changes in this game, with Los Angeles riding a 31-19 third quarter to their win. In fact, they led by eight points going into that final quarter and Portland never got it any closer than that. The Lakers ended up shooting 42 percent from the field while holding the Trail Blazers below 39 percent shooting. In addition, Los Angeles out-assisted Portland, 25-19, while out-rebounding them, 52-45. They did that while recording nine steals and seven blocks, winning the turnover battle, 15-9.

The Trail Blazers (18-14) were led by Damian Lillard, tallying 35 points, three rebounds and seven assists. Gary Trent Jr amassed 19 points, two assists and two steals. Enes Kanter totaled 11 points, 17 rebounds and three assists. Derrick Jones had 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks while Robert Covington generated four points and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers (23-11) were led by LeBron James, collecting 28 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and three blocks. Dennis Schroder returned and compiled 22 points, three rebounds and two assists. No other starter had more than eight points, four rebounds and two assists. Montrezl Harrell led the bench with 17 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

On deck for Los Angeles is a home game versus the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. As for Portland, they return to action on Monday in a home matchup with the Charlotte Hornets.
