Celtics and 76ers Tangle in Divisional Clash
The Boston Celtics take on the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.

The Celtics (21-21) have had trouble stringing together extended stretches of winning during Ime Udoka's first season at the helm, but they'll enter Friday's contest with three consecutive victories. Their most recent success came Wednesday night, when they toppled the Indiana Pacers by a 119-100 score. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 34 points, complementing them with five rebounds and three assists. Jayson Tatum finished with 33 points, seven boards, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Dennis Schroder registered 23 points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal.

The Celtics will likely list Marcus Smart (thigh) as no better than questionable for Friday's game.

The 76ers (23-17) were on an even better run of their own recently, but their seven-game winning streak was snapped by the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night in a 109-98 loss for Philadelphia. Joel Embiid paced the 76ers with 31 points, supplementing them with six rebounds, three assists and one block. Tobias Harris registered 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one steal. Furkan Korkmaz delivered 14 points. Tyrese Maxey and Seth Curry generated matching 10-point, three-rebound, three-assist tallies.

The 76ers are likely to list Shake Milton (back) as questionable at best for Friday's game.

Friday's contest marks the third of four meetings between the teams this season. The series is tied 1-1, with the Celtics recording an 88-87 win Dec. 1 and the 76ers posting a 108-103 victory Dec. 20.
