Raptors and Pistons Set for Motown Matchup
The Toronto Raptors take on the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Friday night.

The Raptors (20-18) had recently emerged from an extended stretch of COVID-related absences in fine fashion, as they rattled off six straight wins before dropping a 99-95 decision to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. OG Anunoby led the way with 25 points, adding two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Pascal Siakam delivered 22 points, seven boards, seven assists and three steals. Fred VanVleet managed 21 points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals. Chris Boucher generated a 13-point, 16-rebound double-double that also included three blocks.

The Raptors will list Gary Trent (ankle) and Scottie Barnes (knee) as questionable for Friday's contest.

The Pistons (9-31) have had about as miserable a season as their record implies, but they'd recently enjoyed some rare success with back-to-back wins over the Magic and Jazz. However, Detroit came crashing back down to earth in an ugly way Tuesday night in a 133-87 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Josh Jackson paced the Pistons with 16 points, two rebounds and two steals. Saddiq Bey delivered 14 points, five boards, four assists and one block. Isaiah Stewart registered 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and four blocks.

The Pistons are likely to list Cory Joseph (knee), Frank Jackson (COVID-19 protocols), Kelly Olynyk (knee) and Jerami Grant (thumb) for Friday's game.

Friday's contest marks the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The Pistons hold a 1-0 series lead, having notched a 127-121 win Nov. 13.
