Javon Baker

22-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Patriots used their fourth-round pick to add Baker. Earlier in the draft, the team added wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk in the second round. Baker began his college career at Alabama, but he was unable to secure regular playing time. As a result, the receiver moved to UCF, where he was a deep threat. However, the fact that Baker ran a 4.54 in the 40-yard dash could indicate that NFL deep speed is lacking. Although New England lacks a star-studded receiver group, Baker may find it difficult to earn regular snaps. Currently, the team has Polk, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas and K.J. Osborn. That could be a challenging depth chart to place high on for the rookie. Read Past Outlooks

The Patriots selected Baker in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 110th overall.
ANALYSIS
Baker was a four-star recruit and spent his first two years of college at Alabama. He struggled to get on the field with the Crimson Tide before ultimately transferring to UCF, where he combined to post 108 receptions for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last two seasons. Baker's ability to translate to the NFL is in question, as he was a big-play threat in college but posted only mediocre size-adjusted speed at the NFL Combine. Nevertheless, the Patriots lack clarity on their wide receiver depth chart, so Baker could emerge with a bigger role than expected.

Could sneak into third round
WRFree Agent
April 21, 2024
Baker could be an option for the Ravens in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, per Ryan Mink of the team's official site.
ANALYSIS
Baker barely saw the field for two years at Alabama before transferring to UCF, where he thrived against lesser competition to the tune of 1,935 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns across two seasons. If the Ravens don't draft a wide receiver in the first or second round, Baker could be a player the team targets late in Round 3 with the 93rd overall pick.
