2023 Fantasy Outlook
Jordan had a disappointing second season after a strong finish to his rookie year. An early injury and subpar QB play contributed to the drop-off, but there was also a three-game stretch as a healthy scratch. The last two seasons in Houston were not ideal for a young pass-catching tight end, so as the organization turns the corner with a new coaching staff and signal-caller, Jordan could bounce back in 2023. Assuming he's past the knee injury he suffered in the final game of 2022, Jordan will compete with Teagan Quitoriano for snaps behind Dalton Schultz, who comes over from Dallas after scoring 17 touchdowns the last three seasons. Read Past Outlooks
Targeted once in playoff loss
Jordan failed to catch his lone target in Houston's 34-10 playoff loss to Baltimore last Saturday. He finished the regular season with 17 receptions on 21 targets for 219 yards and two touchdowns over 14 games.
ANALYSIS
A gifted athlete at tight end, Jordan has never excelled at the blocking responsibilities of the position, which has put a cap on his playing time over his three seasons in Houston. He opened the year third on the depth chart, before he was elevated when Teagan Quitoriano suffered a season-ending groin injury in October. Jordan can make plays, as evidenced by his 76-yard touchdown catch-and-run during a wild-card win over Cleveland, but there's unlikely to be much change in his usage in 2024, the final year of his rookie contract. This season's starting tight end, Dalton Schultz, becomes an unrestricted free agent, but the Texans likely want him back after a year in which he developed chemistry with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be breakout candidate
Jordan, a 2021 fifth-round pick, could take a significant step forward this coming season, Eric Edholm of NFL.com suggests.
ANALYSIS
Jordan turned in a serviceable 20 receptions, 178 receiving yards and three touchdowns over nine games a season ago while playing mostly with fellow rookie Davis Mills as his quarterback. Edholm points out the departure of position mate Jordan Akins and Mills' lack of proven pass-catching options beyond Brandin Cooks could certainly lead to a boost in opportunities for Jordan.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
A fifth-round pick in last year’s draft, Jordan flashed some potential after the Texans brought him
along slowly. He was inactive the first seven games, but once he got on the field, he scored
three TDs in his first six appearances. After missing a game with a hand injury, though, he failed
to score in the next three games, ultimately averaging only 2.2 catches for 19.8 yards in nine
games. He could take on a larger role in Year 2, with Jordan Akins' departure for the Giants in
free agency reducing last-year’s three-man TE rotation to just Jordan and Pharaoh Brown. The
Texans value Brown as a blocker, but Jordan is much faster (4.69 40). And with only one proven
WR on the roster in Brandin Cooks, Jordan has an opportunity to emerge as one of the top
receiving options for second-year QB Davis Mills.
