ANALYSIS
Calvillo was released by the UFC back in April, but it appears she's now back with the promotion. The fighter had lost her last five UFC contests, most recently via split decision to Lupita Godinez. She'll look to right the ship against Reed, who is coming off a victory over Jihn Yu Frey in June.

Losing streak hits five
Calvillo lost to Lupita Godinez via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC 287 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
The UFC awarded Calvillo another fight despite the fact she entered having lost four in a row, and the company was not rewarded for its decision. To be fair, Cynthia put forth a better performance here than many of her other recent bouts. She was more than willing to stand in the pocket and exchange with Godinez. What Calvillo was giving up in terms of both power and athleticism, she attempted to make up for by throwing plenty of volume. It nearly worked. We have seen time and time again over the course of Calvillo's six-plus years with the company that she lacks the technical skill to consistently win at the highest level. This was the latest example of that. Cynthia lost just once in her first eight UFC bouts (6-1-1) prior to her five-fight losing streak.

Calvillo will face Lupita Godinez in a UFC event April 8, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Calvillo is on a four-bout losing streak, with her most recent defeat coming at the hands of Nina Nunes in August. After fighting in the flyweight class recently, Calvillo will return to the strawweight class to take on Godinez. Godinez is on a three-fight losing streak of her own, making this a pivotal match for both fighters.
