Yahoo DFS Hockey: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

There's only one NHL game Wednesday, with the Islanders hosting the Bruins with the chance to eliminate them. That means Yahoo's DFS contests will be a little different. You have $120 of salary to spend on five players from these two teams. One player is your "Superstar" and is worth 1.5 times the fantasy points. In putting together a potential roster, I'm eschewing goalies. Tuukka Rask got pulled in Game 5 and the Bruins are being coy about his health. Semyon Varlamov has a 2.72 GAA in the playoffs and the Bruins have scored 3.10 goals per game. Instead, here are the five players I am selecting.

SUPERSTAR

Brad Marchand, BOS at NYI ($30): They don't give style points in DFS, but Marchand scored a beautiful goal in Game 5. What they do give fantasy points for, though, are the 10 points he's had in his last nine games. He scored in eight of those outings, as well. Marchand had 69 points in 53 games this season, and the "Perfection Line" has lived up to the nickname in the playoffs.

FLEX

Patrice Bergeron, BOS at NYI ($29): I decided to grab one more player from the "Perfection Line." If this team is going to move on, it will be because the top line carried them to a win. In addition to having nine points in his last nine games, Bergeron has been incredibly active offensive. Across those contests he's put 42 shots on net.

Mathew Barzal, NYI vs. BOS ($19): Barzal started the playoffs a little slow, but he's been on fire recently. He has a four-game point streak and a three-game goal streak. Additionally, the 24-year-old has 14 shots on goal in his last four games. If Rask can't play, Jeremy Swayman will likely be in net. He may have had a .945 save percentage in 10 regular season appearances, but those are the only games of the rookie's career, plus the 18:34 he played in Game 5 long after it was decided.

Anthony Beauvillier, NYI vs. BOS ($19): I don't know which way this game is going to go, so I want to be covered on both teams. Beauvillier got hot even before Barzal, as he has 10 points over his last nine games. It's helped that the Islanders decided to move him to the top power-play unit. After only averaging 1:49 per game with the extra man during the regular season he's up to 2:39 over the last nine contests.

Charlie McAvoy, BOS at NYI ($19): I've got one defenseman in the mix, and it's the best defenseman in this series. McAvoy has taken his game to a new level in the playoffs. The 23-year-old has averaged 26::06 in ice time, including 3:07 on the power play. He's notched 11 points, 28 shots on goal, and 19 blocked shots. McAvoy likely won't have three points again like he did in Game 5, but I expect him to be extremely involved on both ends of the ice.
