Buffalo Bills
2020 Fantasy Outlook
A surprise third-round pick last year, Knox placed second among rookie tight ends in snaps (659) and third in targets, waltzing his way to a starting job after Tyler Kroft suffered a broken foot in OTAs. The Ole Miss product finished his college career with 605 yards and nary a touchdown, struggling to find targets behind A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf. Knox's impressive pro day (4.57 40), 254-pound frame and reputation for strong blocking inspired the Bills to take a shot, and while the rookie perhaps held his own as a starter, the lack of polish was evident (14.3 percent drop rate). On the other hand, he displayed some downfield prowess with five catches for 160 yards on 11 targets traveling 20-plus yards downfield. The Bills didn't bring in serious TE competition during the offseason, but they did schedule a visit with Greg Olsen before he signed with Seattle. While he may not be fully trusted, Knox figures to enter this season atop the depth chart, potentially even handling a three-down role. In terms of targets, he'll presumably fall in somewhere behind Stefon Diggs and John Brown, and quite possibly behind Cole Beasley and Devin Singletary as well. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Knox was picked in the third round as more of a project type and had been expected to serve as the backup to free-agent signee Tyler Kroft, but Kroft struggled with injuries and Knox ended becoming the starter for much of the season. While the Mississippi product struggled a bit with drops, he also showed a knack for big plays and an ability to rumble for yards after the catch. Kroft is healthy again, but Knox offers more upside and (for now) a better rapport with quarterback Josh Allen, so there's a chance he gets to take the starter's job and run with it in 2020.
