2019
Batson recorded two catches for 15 yards and one touchdown over four games last season before being placed on the Titans' injured reserve in mid-October. This offseason, he reunited with former offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who called offensive plays when Batson had the best season of his career (12 receptions for 100 yards and one touchdown) in 2020. It remains unclear if the wideout will be 100 percent by training camp, which may hurt his chances of carving out a role in the Falcons' revamped wideout room.
Batson, who joined the Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2018, saw his career interrupted by a training camp injury that cost him the entire 2019 season, and he was then subsequently cut prior to the 2020 campaign. However, he rejoined the Titans as part of the practice squad prior to Week 1. He was eventually promoted to the active roster and subsequently went on to post career-best marks in offensive snaps, receptions and yards. With A.J. Brown and Julio Jones atop the team's wideout depth chart as the 2021 season approaches, Batson is slated to jostle for depth chart slotting with the likes of free agent addition Josh Reynolds and rookie Dez Fitzpatrick.
Batson signed with the Titans as a UDFA in 2018 and managed to get on the field to record eight receptions for 82 yards. He couldn't build on that in 2019 due to an undisclosed injury that kept him out for the entirety of the campaign. Still, the team saw enough promise in him to tender him a contract for 2020, so he has a decent chance to make the team and compete for targets behind the core three wideouts of A.J. Brown, Corey Davis, and Adam Humphries.
Batson suffered a fractured collarbone early in training camp and was placed on inured reserve. Given the team's added depth at wideout, he's unlikely to make an impact even if he proves healthy.
