2023 Fantasy Outlook
Shrader enters his redshirt-senior season looking to take another leap from a solid junior campaign. Last season Shrader saw his passing numbers take a big leap from 1,445 passing yards to 2,640 yards and 52.6 completion percentage to 64.7 percent and nine touchdown passes to 17. With the loss of star running back Sean Tucker more of the load will fall onto Shrader’s shoulders in 2023. Shrader is a very capable runner as well, expect the Orange to rely more heavily on Shrader in all aspects of the offense. Read Past Outlooks
Out for bowl game
Shrader (shoulder) is out for Syracuse's bowl game Thursday against South Florida, the team reports.
ANALYSIS
Playing with a shoulder tear since October, Shrader decided to play through the injury until Syracuse became bowl-eligible. Once that came to fruition, he underwent surgery at the end of Syracuse's 2023 season, one during which his statistical output included more than 2,000 scrimmage yards and 20 touchdowns across 11 games. Without him available, Carlos Del Rio-Wilson is the favorite to start in Syracuse's bowl game.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
It can get ugly with Shrader as a passer (52.6 percent completed, 6.2 yards per attempt in 2021), but his production as a runner is so substantial he can still deliver big numbers to his fantasy investors when the matchup is right. He has a big frame that allows him to accumulate volume as a runner, and with 14 touchdowns in 2021 he had no shortage of big plays. The catch is that his bad weeks were very bad in 2021 – his three games over 35 fantasy points were impressive but also undermined by his five games with fewer than 20 fantasy points.
