Rice was careful with Green last year, playing him in a few games but shrewdly making sure to maintain his redshirt status. That means he heads into this season as a freshman with a few games under his belt. His numbers weren't great, he completed 51 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and four interceptions, but the bar is extremely low with the Owls. If Green is even decent this year as a starter, and he seemingly has the potential to do so, it will be a huge step forward for this team.
