Gach announced Monday that he intends to transfer to Minnesota, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Gach announced in April that he would declare for the 2020 NBA Draft, and though he hasn't officially withdrawn, he's expected to do so prior to the Aug. 3 deadline. Assuming that's the case, the 21-year-old will continue his college career in his home state of Minnesota after spending the first two years of his collegiate career at Utah. As a sophomore in 2019-20, Bach averaged 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 three-pointers in 29.4 minutes per game while starting in 25 of his 28 appearances. Since Gach isn't a graduate transfer, he'll tentatively have to sit out the 2020-21 season, though he intends to apply for a waiver for immediate eligibility from the NCAA and may have a decent chance of receiving one since he's moving to a school about 100 miles from his hometown.
