ADP Trends: Quarterbacks

The signal callers are up in our fourth and final installment of position by position ADP trends. Running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and all the previous ADP posts can be found here.

Much of the movement with quarterbacks is from the few open camp battles that have been settled. As is the case with all positions, injuries are also to blame for long falls, and in turn, new opportunities for former backups.

Once again, the average draft positions below come from NFFC, which are always PPR leagues.

The first group are players that were not being drafted two weeks ago. Players like Marcus Mariota, Nick Foles and Ryan Fitzpatrick were among those undrafted players, except in deeper leagues that go beyond 250 picks. All three players are bunched up right around pick 200. Tyrod Taylor's rise is probably much more steep, even though his jump looks smaller (+4.4) on the table above. Taylor just sneaks inside the top-250 after appearing on zero cheat sheets prior to training camp.

Sam Bradford (+35.7) is the highest riser among players that were being drafted regularly two weeks ago. A combination of health, Philadelphia's high volume offense and his sharp pre-season play have contributed to his ascent toward QB1 status. Bradford went 10-for-10 passing with 121 yards and three scores in last weekend's dress rehearsal. The obvious question is, will his knees hold up?

Some interesting cases among the biggest fallers. Cam Newton and Jay Cutler have done nothing to hurt their own stock, but each has lost key receivers in Kelvin Benjamin and Kevin White, respectively. Cutler has also had to deal with minor injuries to Alshon Jeffrey, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson, although that group is expected to be ready for week 1.

Tom Brady's saga remains in the balance. A court decision, whenever that finally comes, followed by an appeal from one side the or the other, may not shake by your fantasy draft. As it stands, Brady appears to be a bargain, with the possibility that he is available for a full 16-game slate.

Robert Griffin has, unsurprisingly, lost the most ground on draft boards. Not only has he dealt with numerous injuries and inconsistencies, but now Kirk Cousins has officially been named the starter in Washington. Fantasy owners aren't showing any faith in coach Jay Gruden's squad, as Cousins is also not being selected. Griffin has a a chance to rebound his career, but that will most likely need to be with another club.
