NHL Western Conference: OT Again. And Again. And Again ...

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • Screw you, Joel Quennville -- so say Antoine Vermette and Teuvo Teravainen, who went from healthy scratches to heroes. Vermette still isn't a fit in the Windy City, but he's mad and that delivers results.
  • Three goals in 37 seconds. But no matter how ugly it looks, Crow seems to alway pull it out. Lucky or gutsy? Or both?

  • The Ducks came into the first overtime in a perfect V formation -- they had 10 shots before the Hawks got one. Maybe that's how they conserve energy -- you think?
  • Brandon Saad is an absolute beast. But can the the Blackhawks afford to keep him? I smell an offer sheet for the pending RFA. Will trading Patrick Sharp be enough? #screwed.
  • The CBC/Sportsnet pre-game panel did a segment on screening the goalie and Darren Pang -- former Hawks 'tender -- slipped on the goalie gloves. Sure, he's tiny, but he looked like a freaking lobster. Those things went up to his shoulders.
  • What's gotten into Brad Richards? Is he bucking to get his pic on the front of the Wheaties box? The old man was on fire.
  • I've never been a Corey Perry fan, but color me impressed. He's one damn fine player.
  • What's with Andrew Shaw and all the soccer moves? First, the head-butt no goal and then all the footwork in the third and OT. Pssst -- wrong sport, dude.
  • The Ducks and Hawks have already played five-and-a-half games, what with all of the OTs. Will they have anything left? Will Duncan Keith have anything left?
  • Jonathan Toews spent three games under a wet blanket named Ryan Kesler. Until Saturday. Now we'll wait to see if his little break out is the turning point in the series.
  • Worst deadline trade -- James Wisniewski or Antoine Vermette? Discuss.
