Just a few things that caught my eye:

• Flu-like symptoms? Is that the newest pseudonym for post-concussion syndrome? I'm asking you, Jimmy Howard ... or don't you remember getting hit in the head last game?

• Seven shots on net at the 14:39 mark of the third period. Do you think the Avs miss Tyson Barrie? Yikes.

• Dustin Brown got his first playoff point tonight. It's only Game 4. Jonathan Quick isn't the only reason the Sharks took those games.

• Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have each gone eight games without a playoff goal. Just saying.

• So, has anyone else noticed the weirdness in the Blues-Hawks series? Alexander Steen scored the winner in Game 1; ditto Game 1 from Round 1 last year. Barrett Jackman netted the winner in Game 2, both this year and last. Game 3? The Blues were shutout 2-0 this season, but one of those goals was an empty netter. They were also shut out 1-0 in Game 3 last year. And they just so happened to lose 4-3 in Game 4 in both this year and next. The pattern is uncanny. And they better hope they can break it ... and fast.

• When will Dougie Hamilton drop the "ie?" He's growing into his body and his game, so when will he grow into an adult name? Oh right -- Freddie Hamilton hasn't grown up and he's older, so ...

• Niklas Kronwall needs to have more kids. Clearly helping deliver his first born in the last couple days fuelled his offensive game. And inspired him to Kronwall a couple guys.

• Mikael Granlund blocked more shots in the last minute 30 than Darcy Kuemper faced all night. The kid's a beast!
