Payne's Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup

The weather here in Buffalo (like much of the northeast) went from 55 degrees and sunny yesterday to a negative windchill and possibly 18 inches of snow today. I thought about shutting down the blog as yesterday was only the second time this month that I didn't blog and I've cashed both of those times. Yesterday's lineup even placed in the $2 and $12 tournaments despite having Dirk Nowitzki and Jerryd Bayless in it.

I'm pretty pumped about tonight's for a few reasons. First, there are 11 games on the slate which will provide plenty of different options. Next, Draftkings is having their 160-man tournament, $55 entry with the top price being an entry into Miami's World Poker Tour event. I've accumulated two tickets since their last one and will try and claim the top prize.

The game that intrigues me the most tonight is the Celtics/Knicks. Jerryd Bayless had been fantasy relevant to last night's dud and both Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler will miss the game. Kelly Olynyk had put up some good fantasy games before last night and Kris Humphries has been consistently nailing his 15-foot jumper. Someone between Cole Aldrich and Jeremy Tyler should earn much more than their price too. Carmelo Anthony should hit the boards more earn a few extra FPs as well.

Here's my 50/50 lineup for tonight:

PG - Isaiah Thomas, $6800 - The price and matchup are too good here to pass up. Thomas had a decent night last night and will likely be widely owned today. Fun fact: his dad lost a bet over the NBA finals with a friend and had to name his unborn son after Isiah Thomas. The mother was fine with that (somehow) but insisted it was the biblical way of spelling the name.

SG - Randy Foye, $4600 - He plays plenty of minutes and his shot is bound to start falling at some point.

SF - DeMar DeRozan, $7800 - I love him a lot tonight even though he's hasn't earned his price lately. The Pistons played last night and favorite punt Kyle Singler shouldn't be able to stop him.

PF - Dirk Nowitzki, $7400 - This could be a case of me being stubborn and not wanting to miss Nowitzki's big game. He burned me last night but has a much better road matchup tonight..

C - DeMarcus Cousins, $9800 - Will be the most used player out of the ones with the most salary. Cousins should have his way with whatever big man the 76ers put on him. Don't be surprised to see Rudy Gay in a lot of lineups as well.

G - Jerryd Bayless, $4500 - With no Rondo tonight he should log some heavy minutes. He's improved his counting stats outside of points since joining the Celtics which greatly helps his fantasy value.

F - Maurice Harkless, $4600 - I usually follow the minutes and Harkless has been playing as many as he can handle lately. He's had seven straight games of 20-plus FPs and I don't see that changing tonight.

Util - Marcus Morris, $4300 - He'll get the start with P.J. Tucker suspended for tonight's game and has been pretty consistent lately. I'll be playing his brother in tournament formats but Marcus has scored double figures in six straight games.
