Run DMC, Run: Week 5 Predictions

More heavy criticism last week for picking Tennessee and crowning Matt Hasselbeck as a surprisingly efficient quarterback, but Tennessee continues to impress. Meanwhile, my Philadelphia Eagles continue to disappoint like a young Kwame Brown.

Overall: 5-2-1

Last Week's Predictions:

Chicago -6.5 vs Carolina: LOSS

The Bears were up 11 with 0:04 remaining, but thanks to a garbage time TD from Camuel Newton, the Bears only won by 5. C'est la vie.

Tennessee +1 at Cleveland: WIN

Chris Johnson finally got slightly on track and Hasselbeck stood firm. He moved up to 6th in terms of QB efficiency, helping a Tennessee offense that has scored 22 points above expectation on passing plays this season.

Week 5 Predictions:

Minnesota -2.5 vs Arizona

Hard to pick an 0-4 team that lost to Kansas City to win, but I have faith in Purple Jesus. The Vikings are not quite as bad as their record reflects and actually boast average offensive efficiency numbers. Arizona collapsed last week against New York and have few bright spots outside of Beanie Wells.

Oakland +6 at Houston

In what I'm sure will be another controversial pick, Oakland has been killing it on the ground. In addition, Jason Campbell hasn't been his usual self, doing a good job avoiding tragic mistakes. Darren McFadden should have a huge day against a slightly below average Houston run defense.
