Sunday NFL Notes

Derrick Ward is lining up as the Texans' No. 2 back with Ben Tate the No. 3. Given that the Texans have arguably the best running game in the league, that's worth noting, especially with Arian Foster aggravating his hamstring. That said, it's an open question which back would get the bulk of the work should Foster miss any time.

Jerome Harrison carried eight times for 24 yards on Saturday and made three catches for 51 yards. He's likely to be in the mix even if Jahvid Best stays healthy. And if Best goes down, Harrison could be the team's top back.

Jimmy Graham had five receptions for 73 yards in a half of play Sunday. He could be heavily involved in the Saints passing game this year, especially in the red zone.

LeGarrette Blount had five carries for 10 yards and three catches for 62 yards Saturday. Blount could be more involved in the passing game this year, making him more valuable than expected in PPR leagues.

Michael Crabtree (foot) has apparently been "outstanding" in meetings and in his grasp of the offense. He hasn't yet been cleared to practice, but it's possible it'll happen this week.

Kenny Britt (hamstring) might play in Thursday's preseason finale. He's also no longer in danger of being suspended.
