Picks, 8|FRONTS|9|FRONTS|10

I really wish I'd had a chance to run picks yesterday, as Sunday featured a lot of opportunities. Unfortunately, life intervened, which you can interpret as "my procrastination on my book caught up with me." In any case, back today.

Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

St. Louis -140, one unit. This is about as high as I usually go for a favorite, especially a road dog. I like the pitching matchup a lot, with Carpenter against the slipping Mike Leake.

Baltimore +120, one unit. Mix of backing Brian Matusz and the O's and my conviction that Edwin Jackson is still recovering from the 149-pitch game.

Houston +122, one unit. Backing Bud against the Bravos be brave, boy.
