Thursday Night Observations

From the score alone, I probably would have watched the condensed version of the game, but my Twitter feed told me not to. Social media is good for something. We've been in Lisbon a week now and are starting to get the lay of the land. It's a nice city that's going to look entirely different in five years given the insane amount of development going on, and the weather's great, but it doesn't have Berlin's huge green spaces everywhere.

(A T-shirt I bought after we found out our residency visas didn't come through for Germany. Above, a window in our neighborhood shows Lisbon's decrepit charm.)

• Blake Bortles must have played amazingly with 337 yards and three TDs. Who says you have to watch the games to know what happened? There's a good chance the Jaguars will have to draft another QB in 2017.

• This game showed fantasy's sometimes tenuous relationship with reality as Bortles was as monster, but Mariota, who got 12.2 YPA and threw only four incomplete passes, was not.

• DeMarco Murray always gets his. I know this was a good home matchup, but still it's uncanny how consistent he's been. Derrick Henry averaged only 3.8 YPC but did contribute as a receiver (four catches) and scored a TD.

• No Titans receiver saw more than five targets, which was not surprising given the game flow.

• Allen Robinson managed only 70 yards on 15 targets. Marqise Lee only one catch. Allen Hurns had a nice game on 11 targets, but Bortles is so erratic, it's hard to count on much from any of them right now.

• Jaguars backs combined for seven carries all game.
