Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Bradley Daniel Wanamaker was born in Philadelphia. His parents are Bradley Wanamaker, Sr. and Deborah Samuel. He has two sisters and two brothers. Wanamaker's twin brother Brian also played collegiate basketball and continues to play professionally in Europe. The guard is a 2007 graduate of Philadelphia's Roman Catholic High School, where he was selected to the PIAA All-State First Team and named Philadelphia Daily News Player of the Year as a senior. In college at the University of Pittsburgh, Wanamaker majored in communications. Shortly before entering the NBA, Wanamaker earned All-EuroLeague Second Team honors in 2017. To learn more, follow the veteran guard @bwan22 on instagram and @phillybul_22 on twitter. Before signing his first NBA contract with the Celtics, Brad Wanamaker played four years at the University of Pittsburgh and then seven seasons overseas. During his last two seasons at Pitt, Wanamaker started 68 straight games, averaging 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. After his senior season, the point guard was named an AP All-America Honorable Mention selection. Wanamaker's first professional season (2011-12) was split between Austin's D-League squad and Italy's Teramo team. Wanamaker spent all of the 2012-13 season with the French Pro A Limoges squad, but he would blossom one year later with the Italian Pistoia squad, averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game. That success led to two seasons with Germany's Brose Bramberg squad, where he'd have fellow future Celtic Daniel Theis as a teammate. Wanamaker would then play two seasons in Turkey with Darussafaka and Fenerbahce, respectively, before signing with the Celtics ahead of the 2018-19 season.

The Wizards didn't re-sign Wanamaker (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) after his 10-day contract expired Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wanamaker started in his lone appearance for the Wizards, playing 27 minutes while scoring seven points and adding seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in a 110-93 win over the Cavaliers on Dec. 30. He entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols two days later, which made him ineligible to play during much of his 10-day stint with Washington.

Could be in line for bigger role
GIndiana Pacers
December 3, 2021
Wanamaker might be in line to assume a bigger role in case T.J. Connell has to miss extended time due to a wrist injury, according to Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
ANALYSIS
Wanamaker has been in and out of the Pacers' rotation this season, but not having McConnell might transform the former Celtics floor general into the team's backup point guard behind Malcolm Brogdon. Wanamaker ended playing 16 minutes against the Hawks on Wednesday but is averaging just 3.8 points and 2.1 assists across 12.8 minutes per game this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020

2018
Wanamaker found himself in a legitimate backup role last season with the Celtics, averaging 19.3 minutes, 6.9 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds while shooting a league-high 92.6 percent from the charity stripe. His 44.8 percent from the field and 36.3 percent shooting from three were respectable, as well. Heading into 2020-21, Wanamaker will be on a new team, as the 31-year-old signed a one-year, $2.3 million contract with the Warriors. With Golden State, he figures to occupy a backup role to Stephen Curry, though he'll also have to compete with Jordan Poole, Damion Lee and others for playing time. Wanamaker will probably have much more real-life impact than fantasy utility, so he can probably be left off most virtual rosters at this juncture.
Wanamaker, a 30-year-old NBA sophomore, returns to Boston with minimal expectations. The veteran will probably champion the end of the bench for the Celtics. Wanamaker is behind star Kemba Walker, veteran Marcus Smart and rookie Carsen Edwards on the Celtics' point guard depth chart. Despite the loss of Kyrie Irving and Terry Rozier, Wanamaker will be fortunate to exceed the 36 games played that he logged last season. Should two-way rookie Tremont Waters shine with the Maine Red Claws, there is a chance Wanamaker could lose his roster spot.
After one year in the D-League followed by six seasons in Europe, Wanamaker left roughly $3.8 million on the table to return stateside and sign a rookie minimum deal with the Celtics. The 29-year-old combo guard, who played collegiately at Pittsburgh, will face an uphill battle for meaningful minutes, considering he’s behind Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart on the depth chart. Of course, the same was said about Shane Larkin this time last year, and Larkin wound up appearing in 54 games and averaging 14 minutes per contest. due in large part to injuries elsewhere on the roster. At 6-4, Wanamaker, a former teammate of Daniel Theis in Germany, has the defensive versatility that Boston covets.
