Mavericks Defeat Thunder, 104-102
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the host Oklahoma City Thunder, 104-102, at Chesapeake Arena on Monday.

A 33-24 first quarter really set the tone for Dallas in this game, winning in wire-to-wire fashion. In fact, they got their lead up to 22 points at times in the third quarter and never allowed Oklahoma City to take a game-tying shot in the second half. OKC actually had a possession down two points with 1.8 seconds left but turned the ball over on the inbound. The Mavericks out-rebounded the Thunder, 47-42, while out-assisting them, 28-20. In addition, Dallas out-blocked OKC, 7-2.

The Mavericks (25-19) got a triple-double from Luka Doncic, tallying 20 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals and three blocks, despite missing 13 of his 17 shots. Dorian Finney-Smith had 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jalen Brunson compiled 14 points, five rebounds and eight assists, while Kristaps Porzingis provided 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.

The Thunder (14-29) were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, accruing 34 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Luguentz Dort amassed 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Josh Giddey generated 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. Aaron Wiggins led the bench with eight points, five rebounds and two steals.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Oklahoma City traveling to face the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas returning home to play the Toronto Raptors.
