Mavs Close Out Home Win To End Two-Game Slide
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the visiting Detroit Pistons, 127-117, at American Airlines Center on Wednesday evening.

The contest got out to a high-scoring start as the Pistons led, 36-33, after one quarter. The Mavericks took control in the second, where they outscored the visitors by 12, to take a nine-point lead into halftime. The pace picked up in the third, but the Mavs held the edge through the quarter and led, 100-90, heading into the final frame. The Pistons kept up the fight in the fourth, but the Mavs maintained control and closed out the home win to end a two-game slide.

Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with 30 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and two steals, in 33 minutes. Jalen Brunson followed up with 20 points, five assists and three rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis logged 19 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals. The Mavs shot 50 percent from the field, including 16-of-43 from long range.

Meanwhile, Jerami Grant led the Pistons with 26 points, two rebounds and two assists, in 26 minutes. Cory Joseph added 24 points, five rebounds, five assists and a block, while Mason Plumlee totaled 13 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. The Pistons shot 50 percent from the field, including 13-of-32 from long range.

The Pistons (18-41) will look to bounce back as they take on the Spurs in San Antonio on Thursday. The Mavericks (31-26) play host to the Lakers on Thursday.
