Shorthanded Pistons Earn Impressive Road Win
The Detroit Pistons defeated the host Sacramento Kings, 113-101, at Golden 1 Center on Thursday evening.

Despite missing Jerami Grant (knee) and Mason Plumlee (concussion), the Pistons got out to a great start on the road and led by four points after one quarter. They doubled down in the second, where they outscored the hosts, 35-21, to take an 18-point lead into halftime. The Kings came out stronger in the third, but the Pistons stayed in control and carried a 15-point lead into the final frame. The Kings kept chipping away, but it was too little, too late, as the Pistons closed out the road win.

Cory Joseph led the way for the Pistons with 24 points, seven assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block, in 31 minutes. Isaiah Stewart finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block, while Saddiq Bey added 12 points, six rebounds and two steals. The Pistons shot 52 percent from the field, including 8-of-23 from deep.

Meanwhile, De'Aaron Fox led the Kings with 23 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals, in 36 minutes. Buddy Hield added 15 points and four rebounds, while Richaun Holmes logged 15 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks. The Kings shot 44 percent from the field, including 7-of-30 from deep.

The Kings (22-30) will look to bounce back as they take on the Jazz in Utah on Saturday. Pistons (16-36) take on the Trail Blazers in Portland on Saturday.
