Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Tuesday's eight-game slate in the NBA consists of several teams who will be limited by injuries. As we consider the aftermath, here are some players to target for your Yahoo entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Bradley Beal, WAS at SAC ($48): Beal is on some kind of hot streak. He's scored at least 50.5 Yahoo points in five straight games, averaging a whopping 42.8 points during that stretch. He's not just looking for his own shot, either, since he also averaged six assists across those five contests. With his 34.2 percent usage rate and the Wizards playing at the fifth-fastest pace in the league, Beal should once again have a tremendously high floor for this matchup.

Shake Milton, PHI at LAL ($16): The Sixers' depth chart is ugly right now. Joel Embiid (shoulder), Ben Simmons (back) and Josh Richardson (concussion) have all been ruled out, which means there will be both a lot of minutes and shot attempts up for grabs. Milton has logged at least 32 minutes in three straight games, averaging 26 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists during that stretch. At this cheap price, he's almost too good to pass up.

Guard to Avoid

Paul George, LAC at OKC ($30): It's been a rough regular season for George, who has been limited to 38 games because of injury. The Clippers are just trying to get him healthy for the playoffs at this point, so he's seen limited playing time lately. He did log 30 minutes against the Sixers on Sunday, finishing with 24 points and four rebounds. However, his playing time could fluctuate on a nightly basis. If you're looking for a guard in this price range, it might be safer to roll with Kyle Lowry ($33), Lonzo Ball ($31) or Jrue Holiday ($31) since they are all playing heavy minutes and providing significant production.

FORWARDS

Zion Williamson, NO vs. MIN ($36): Williamson has been worth the wait. He's been spectacular since returning from injury, scoring at least 31.3 Yahoo points in 11 straight games. This should be a high-scoring affair between two teams ranked inside the top-four in the league in pace of play, so look for Williamson to keep things rolling with another juicy stat line.

Trey Lyles, SA at CHA ($14): Reinforcements won't be coming for the Spurs' front court Tuesday with LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder) and Jakob Poeltl (knee) both expected to remain out. With so few healthy options left, Lyles has logged at least 37 minutes in back-to-back contests. He cashed in by scoring at least 35.2 both games. With the Hornets sporting the seventh-worst defensive rating in the league, Lyles is one of the best cheap options to target.

Forward to Avoid

Mikal Bridges, PHO vs. TOR ($18): Bridges has played well lately, scoring at least 29.1 Yahoo points in four of his last five games. However, it should be noted that three of those games came against bad teams in the Bulls, Pistons and Warriors. He'll be facing a much tougher task against the Raptors, who have the second-best defensive rating. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him struggle here.

CENTERS

Marquese Chriss, GS at DEN ($22): Things are ugly for the Warriors, but Chriss has been the beneficiary of their lost season. He's played a lot because of injuries, even starting each of his last 14 games. He's averaged 13.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks during that stretch and likely won't be going back to the bench anytime soon. Even though the Warriors could get blown out in this game, Chriss should receive plenty of playing time, regardless of the score.

Harry Giles III, SAC vs. WAS ($16): A team that entered the season with a lot of depth up front, the Kings are now forced to start Giles at center because of injuries. He's trying not to let his opportunity go to waste, averaging 14.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists across the last five games. With the Wizards playing at such a fast pace and allowing the most points per game, Giles is at least worth considering if you want to save money at center.

Center to Avoid

DeAndre Jordan, BKN at BOS ($18): Trying to predict which Nets center is going to be productive on any given night is tricky. They have two capable options in Jordan and Jarrett Allen, so sometimes they just go with whoever has the hot hand. That doesn't appear to be Jordan, who has scored 22.1 Yahoo points or fewer in four of the last five games.
