Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

It will be a fairly quiet night in the NBA on Tuesday with only four games on the schedule. There will be no shortage of star power, though, with the Bucks, Rockets, Lakers, Blazers and Nuggets among the teams in action. Let's discuss some players to consider across the price scale on Yahoo, as well as a few to avoid.

GUARDS

James Harden, HOU vs. CHA ($55): Harden is back on track after scoring at least 67.5 Yahoo points in back-to-back games. Now he'll face a Hornets team that has the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league. To top things off, Clint Capela (heel) is out and Russell Westbrook (thumb) is doubtful. That would leave Harden with the bulk of the scoring responsibilities on his shoulders, so don't hesitate to pay up to get him into your lineup.

Monte Morris, DEN vs. POR ($16): Jamal Murray (ankle) is listed as questionable for this matchup after missing 10 straight games. However, with the Nuggets also set to play Wednesday, don't be surprised if they give him another night off. If Murray does indeed sit, Morris becomes an excellent cheap guard option. He just scored 40.9 Yahoo points against the Pistons on Sunday and will take on a Blazers team that has the fifth-worst defensive rating.

Guard to Avoid

Devonte' Graham, CHA at HOU ($27): On the surface, this might seem like a great opportunity to deploy Graham since the Rockets have played at the second-fastest pace. However, Graham is shooting just 33.7 percent from the field across his last seven games, leaving him to score 24.4 Yahoo points or fewer five times. It might be best to stay away from him until he shows signs of turning things around.

FORWARDS

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at NO ($55): This should be a fun game. The Pelicans are finally healthy and both teams are ranked inside the top-five in the league in pace of play. With the Pelicans' improved health situation, they might be able to keep this game somewhat close at home. That could lead to plenty of playing time for Giannis, who has scored at least 55.8 Yahoo points in seven of his last eight contests.

Danuel House Jr., HOU vs. CHA ($15): The Rockets have decided to go extremely small with Capela out, moving House into the starting five. He's coming off of a double-double against the Pelicans on Sunday and has scored at least 27.5 Yahoo points in four of his last five games. When you also factor in the Hornets' lack of talent up front, House is in a prime spot to continue his recent run of success.

Forward to Avoid

Kyle Kuzma, LAL vs. SA ($18): As long as Anthony Davis is healthy, Kuzma is going to be an inconsistent source for production. He's really struggled to provide value lately, scoring 24.9 Yahoo points or fewer in five of his last six games. He's already faced the Spurs twice this season, scoring 8.6 and 15.6 Yahoo points, respectively. Not much to see here.

CENTERS

Hassan Whiteside, POR at DEN ($40): The likely popular play at center will be Nikola Jokic ($45), especially if Murray is out. He's been excellent with Murray sidelined and is coming off of a monster performance against the Pistons on Sunday in which he recorded 39 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and two blocks. While he should have another incredibly high floor in this game, don't sleep on Whiteside. He's scored at least 52.2 Yahoo points in five of his last eight games and torched the Nuggets for 61.2 Yahoo points the last time they faced off in Denver.

Brook Lopez, MIL at NO ($21): The cheap center options leave a lot to be desired for this limited slate. If there is one to take a chance on, Lopez might be it. He could see added playing time if this game stays close and he can go off for the occasional massive stat line. Case in point, he produced 17 points, four rebounds and nine blocks against the Suns on Sunday.

Center to Avoid

Derrick Favors, NO vs. MIL ($19): While the Pelicans' improved health situation is great news for the team, it's not for Favors' production. He's starting to play fewer minutes with Zion Williamson back, which has resulted in him scoring 25.1 Yahoo points or fewer in five of his last six games. His price is on the decline, but he's still not cheap enough to warrant adding him to your entry.
