Tyler Webb

Webb was an important part of the Cardinals' bullpen in 2019, appearing in 65 games in his second season with the club. He got off to a rough start with a 7.11 ERA in April but turned things around and finished the campaign with a respectable 3.76 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. The southpaw doesn't throw hard, averaging under 90 mph on his fastball, but he compensates with a four-pitch arsenal that he mixes up to keep hitters on their toes. Webb's lack of velocity prevents him from striking out many batters (he registered a mediocre 21.7 K% last season), but it also limits hard contact against him as batted balls left opposing hitters' bats at an average of only 85.9 mph in 2019. Webb benefited from a meek and unsustainable .184 BABIP last season, so it's fair to expect some ERA and WHIP regression going forward. He won't have any fantasy value, but Webb could forge a decent career as a lefty specialist.
